Indigo will start its services from June 15

An official statement issued on Saturday said that this air port, developed as an ambitious project of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will prove to be an important step towards including Uttar Pradesh among the largest aviation, logistics and connectivity centers of the country. According to the statement, the country’s largest airline Indigo will start its services at this airport from June 15.

The statement said that the Noida International Airport project is also a symbol of the coordinated development model of the central and state governments. On the occasion of the inauguration of the airport, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had described it as a historic project for the connectivity, trade and economic development of not only Uttar Pradesh but the entire North India.

Identification of rapidly changing infrastructure of the state

Today this project has become the identity of the rapidly changing infrastructure scenario of the state. Noida Airport, developed in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, is one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects of the Uttar Pradesh government, for which about 1,334 hectares (about 3,300 acres) of land was acquired.

First phase of airport work completed

The state government obtained necessary permissions from various central agencies and completed the construction work within the stipulated time. The first phase of the airport has been completed, in which its annual passenger capacity will be 1.2 crore. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had issued an aerodrome license to the airport on March 6, 2026. In the current phase, all the necessary facilities including a runway, state-of-the-art terminal building and air traffic control (ATC) tower have been developed.
