PM Modi will visit President Draupadi Murmu’s in-laws house…will inaugurate development projects in Odisha on June 20

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit President Draupadi Murmu’s in-laws village Paharpur in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on June 20. PM Modi will participate in many programs here. Paharpur is the ancestral village of Murmu’s late husband Shyam Charan Murmu. It is about 20 kilometers from Rairangpur town, where the main state-level event of the second anniversary of the BJP government in Odisha will be held. Draupadi Murmu was born in Uparbeda village of Rairangpur sub-division and was married to Shyam Charan Murmu of Paharpur.

Her husband and two sons died before she could assume the office of President in 2022. A memorial has been built in the village in the memory of Murmu’s husband and sons. According to officials, a big public program will be organized at Dandabosh in Rairangpur on June 20. The program will be attended by the President and Prime Minister as well as Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and many senior leaders.

Development projects will be inaugurated

During the program, several development projects will be inaugurated, foundation stones of new infrastructure works will be laid and the leaders present there will address the public meeting. The state government said in an official statement that before the public programme, the President and the Prime Minister will visit Paharpur village. Here they will participate in local events and also visit the exhibition of regional achievements and initiatives.”

Meanwhile, Odisha government has intensified preparations for the VVIP visit to Mayurbhanj district. President Murmu is scheduled to reach Rairangpur on June 19, while the Prime Minister will attend a state-level function on June 20. Ahead of the visit, Chief Secretary Anu Garg chaired a high-level review meeting on Saturday and directed officials to complete all preparations within the stipulated time frame.

Virtually connected officers

Senior officials of the Central and State Government as well as other concerned people also participated in the meeting. Officials of Mayurbhanj district, including the Collector, Eastern Range IG and Superintendent of Police, participated in the meeting virtually. The talks mainly focused on security arrangements, protocol management, convoy movement, helipad preparation, airport logistics, accommodation arrangements, healthcare facilities, fire safety, uninterrupted power and drinking water supply, road infrastructure, cleanliness, telecommunication and media coordination.

Radha Kishan Sharma, Special Secretary, Home Department, presented a detailed status report on the preparations. The Chief Secretary stressed the need for better coordination between the department and district officials, regular monitoring of progress and strict adherence to the set timelines. He directed the officials to ensure the highest standards of security, protocol and logistical management during the visit of the President and the Prime Minister.
