
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the participants of the Vibrant Village Program 2026 through video conferencing on Sunday (26 July 2026). BM will interact with the participants of the program at 4:30 pm. More than 400 youth participants representing each state and union territory have been selected for this program through an online quiz competition organized across the country.
The Vibrant Village Program 2026 was organized from June 4 to June 30, under which youth were connected to 74 vibrant border villages of Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The program provided an opportunity to the participants to have first-hand exposure to the socio-economic conditions, cultural heritage and development aspirations of the border areas of India. It was operated through Mera Bharat. The objective of this program is to connect the border villages of the country with the mainstream of national development and to make the youth aware of the real situation of the border areas.
More than 3 lakh youth took part
An online quiz competition was organized across the country for the programme. More than three lakh youth participated in it. Out of these, more than 400 youth were selected. In which participants representing every state and union territory were included. The selected youth got the opportunity to go to the border areas and live with the local people and understand the conditions there closely.
Participants took part in many activities
During the programme, the participants stayed with the local communities and took part in activities like cleanliness drive, awareness campaign on government schemes, youth conference, cultural exchange programme, tree plantation drive, mini model panchayat simulation, interaction with local artisans and visit to institutions of strategic importance.
Emphasis on increasing awareness
Through this program, the participants got the opportunity to first-hand understand the socio-economic condition, cultural heritage and development aspirations of the border areas of India. Along with this, emphasis was laid on community participation, national integration and increasing awareness about the strategic importance of border villages.
The Vikas Vibrant Village Program is envisioned to realize the Prime Minister’s vision of treating India’s border villages as the first villages of the nation and making them active partners in the journey to a developed India.
