You will be able to make video calls on WhatsApp Web
WhatsApp has said that now users will be able to make audio and video calls on its web version. It also includes the facility of group call along with one to one call. According to the company, calls made from WhatsApp Web will be end-to-end encrypted and there will be no time limit on them. The user will not have to pay any additional fee for this. Features like screen sharing and reaction during call will also be available in the web version.
You will get more control through Call Transfer and Waiting Room
Call transfer feature has been added in the new update, with the help of which users will be able to take the ongoing group call to another device without disconnecting it. For example, a call initiated while traveling can be transferred to WhatsApp Web or desktop app once you reach home. Apart from this, waiting room feature has also been provided, in which people connecting through call link will first be kept in the virtual waiting room and they will be able to join the call only after the permission of the manager.
Call quality will be better with QuickHD and Noise Suppression
WhatsApp has introduced QuickHD feature to improve the quality of video calls. The company says that with this, HD video quality will be available in the first seconds of the start of the video call, whereas earlier the quality used to improve gradually. Along with this, noise suppression feature has also been provided, which will help in making the user’s voice clearer by reducing the surrounding noise. According to WhatsApp, all these new calling features are gradually being made available to all users.
