Rajasthan Royals’ young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi broke many big records not only in IPL but also in T20 batting this season. After an indiscriminate inning of 97 runs in the eliminator match, Vaibhav played cautiously in Qualifier-2 and scored 96 runs in just 47 balls. There was the pain of missing a century in two consecutive matches, but along with this, the pain of the team’s defeat and missing the final increased this pain further. In this way Vaibhav’s successful season ended here.
In such a situation, now Vaibhav will not be seen showing his batting skills in the IPL final. But we will not have to wait much for this batsman’s return to the field. This is because Vaibhav has got a place in the India-A squad, which is going on Sri Lanka tour in the next few days. Here India-A team will play Tri-Nation ODI series with Sri Lanka-A and Afghanistan-A. In this, the Indian team will play its first match against host Sri Lanka on June 9.
A total of 7 matches including the final will be played in this series, in which each team has to play 4-4 matches before the final. Vaibhav is certain to play in all the matches, so good performance will be expected from him. These hopes and expectations have now increased more than before. At the same time, he himself would like to leave his mark because his strong performance here can be rewarded in the form of selection in the senior team for the tour of Ireland and England.
In this series, Vaibhav can be seen opening with Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya. Both of them had earlier also opened for India-A in the Asia Cup Rising Star tournament. Apart from Vaibhav, Priyansh also destroyed the bowlers with his explosive batting in this IPL season.
Talking about the schedule of India-A, the first match is against Sri Lanka-A on 9th June. The second match will be against Afghanistan-A on June 11. After this, there will be a clash again with Sri Lanka-A on 15th June and finally with Afghanistan-A on 17th June. The final of this series will be played on June 21. Tilak Verma will captain India-A in this series.
