Sonam Wangchuk ends her fast
Social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was on an indefinite fast over the NEET paper leak issue, has ended her fast after getting assurance from the government. He took this decision after meeting Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. Both the ministers gave assurance to Wangchuk on behalf of the government.
After ending Wangchuk’s fast, PM Narendra Modi said that I request Sonam ji to follow the advice of doctors and bring her weight back to its previous state, I pray that she remains healthy.
Discussion on paper leak and improvement in examination system
Earlier, JP Nadda, in the presence of Wangchuk’s wife Gitanjali Angmo and others, assured him of the government and said that the government is taking a positive stance in not registering cases against those who protested peacefully at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and those who joined the march to Parliament on July 20.
Nadda said that the government has already assured to discuss the paper leak and reform in the examination system in the Parliament. He also said that the government is also positively considering the proposal to provide suitable compensation to the families of suicide victims related to the recent NEET question paper leak cases.
Wangchuk said on social media platform ‘X’, I ended my fast after 26 days in the presence of Union Minister JP Nadda, Jitendra Singh and leaders of Leh-Ladakh Apex Body. After ending the fast, Wangchuk said that this decision was taken after long and serious negotiations on various conditions and keeping in mind the situation of possible violence in the country.
Demonstration will continue at Jantar Mantar
Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) said late in the night that they are happy with Sonam Wangchuk ending her 26-day fast, but their peaceful protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar will continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. Under the leadership of CJP, students are protesting at Jantar Mantar against the leak of NEET paper.
Fast ends after 26 days
CJP founder Abhijit Dipke, in a post on social media, thanked Wangchuk for his extraordinary courage and sacrifice. Dipke said, we are relieved and grateful that Sonam sir has ended her fast after 26 days. Sir, thank you for your extraordinary courage and sacrifice. By risking your life you have awakened the conscience of the entire country. Your life is very precious for this country. He said that until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns, CJP’s peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar will continue.
