Govinda and Karishma Kapoor Movies: In the 90s, the pair of Govinda and Karisma Kapoor was counted among the most hit onscreen pairs of Bollywood. Together they gave many superhit films like Raja Babu, Coolie No. 1, Hero No. 1, Saajan Chale Sasural and Haseena Maan Jayegi. People liked his great chemistry and comic timing. But after giving several consecutive blockbusters, both of them suddenly stopped working together. Now veteran actress Shagufta Ali, who had worked with him in ‘Hero No. 1’, expressed her opinion on this.
Veteran actress Shagufta Ali told in a recent conversation why Govinda and Karisma Kapoor stopped working together after doing many blockbuster films. Describing Karishma as ‘very ambitious’, he said that despite being a hard worker, the actress had ‘a lot of attitude’. Also, Agufta Ali also remembered his experience of working with Karisma Kapoor.
Why did the superhit couple break up?
In a recent conversation, Shagufta Ali was asked why the superhit pair of Govinda and Karisma Kapoor broke up. On this he said, “The interest must have ended. The love must have ended. How can we trust the mood of the heroines. And being too ambitious is also not good. Karishma was over-ambitious. She was very hardworking, but she also had too much attitude.”
Karisma Kapoor had attitude?
After this, Shagufta Ali also told what she means by ‘attitude’. He said that the behavior and way of working of an artist on the set of any film matters a lot. He said, “What attitude you come to the set with and how you behave makes a difference. If someone is your co-actor, there should be give and take between the two.”
Shagufta further said, “Whether you are doing a scene together or giving an interview, both the people should get equal opportunity. This also affects our performance. If I am present on the set to give cue to the other person, then Karisma should also be present for me. However, I can do the scene without cue also. This is how I have worked in this industry for 40 years.”
Govinda-Karishma’s last film
Let us tell you that Shagufta Ali had worked with Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in David Dhawan’s superhit comedy film Hero No. 1, released in 1997. Govinda and Karisma Kapoor worked together in many hit films in the 90s and their pairing was one of the most favorite couples of that era. Both were last seen together in the thriller-drama film ‘Shikari’ released in 2000. After this, Govinda and Karisma Kapoor never worked together in any film again.
