Punjab government’s ‘Gangster Te War’ campaign got a big success on Sunday. Internationally absconding gangster Jobanjit Singh alias Joban Billa was deported from Jakarta, Indonesia and brought to India. Punjab Police had issued a Red Corner Notice against Joban Billa. Police tracked Joban Billa to Jakarta with the help of Interpol and central agencies. Four serious cases of murder are registered against Joban Billa.
Gangster Jobanjit Singh alias Joban Billa was brought to Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport in Mohali, where the Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) team of Punjab Police took him. The Amritsar Police, already present at the airport, took him into their custody after completing the legal process. The accused was taken to Amritsar for further questioning and production in court.

Let us tell you that at around 5.15 pm on Sunday evening, the AGTF team led by SP Vikram Brar reached the airport with the accused. During this time the airport complex was converted into a police cantonment. As soon as Jobanjeet came out, the police covered his face with a black cloth. After this he was taken to Amritsar under high security.
‘Gangster Te War’ campaign will continue
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the ‘Gangster Te War’ campaign will continue until Punjab becomes completely gangster free. Giving information about the results of this three-day long operation, Special DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla said that a total of 7498 persons have been detained across the state, out of which 3260 have been arrested.
The arrested persons include 135 absconding criminals (POs). He said that the police teams also recovered 47 weapons, 4.8 kg heroin, 3.6 kg opium, 42,797 intoxicating pills, 68 kg bhukki and drug money worth Rs 30 lakh from their possession.
