The Civil Aviation Ministry has issued a warning against fake websites and portals claiming to be the official Air Suvidha 2.0 platform and redirecting users to payment gateways. The Ministry has clarified that the services of Air Suvidha 2.0 are free of cost and passengers do not have to pay any fee for submitting the self-declaration form. The ministry said that the real portal of Air Suvidha 2.0 is a government website, which has been created only for the convenience of passengers.
The ministry urged passengers to check the URL of the website carefully before providing any personal or travel-related information. Passengers have been advised not to make payments on unauthorized websites claiming to provide Air Suvidha 2.0 services.
Why was ‘Air Suvidha 2.0’ started?
The Ministry of Civil Aviation in collaboration with Delhi International Airport Limited (DILL) had launched ‘Air Suvidha 2.0’, an advanced and completely contactless passenger health self-declaration portal. Its purpose is to increase public health surveillance at international entry points in view of the concerns raised by the Ebola virus outbreak.
In fact, the Air Suvidha 2.0 platform has been introduced after the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of Ebola virus disease in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda as a public health emergency of international concern under the International Health Regulations (IHR) 2005 on 17 May. It has been designed to facilitate health monitoring while ensuring an easy and hassle-free experience for travelers visiting India.
It is mandatory to submit self declaration form
Air Suvidha Self Declaration Form can be filled by passengers 24 hours before arrival in India and it is mandatory for all international passengers arriving in India to submit their self declaration form in advance. In fact, the outbreak of Ebola virus has increased greatly in Congo and Uganda, due to which hundreds of people have died.
