DRDO has successfully demonstrated many important technologies that strengthen the defense capabilities of the country. Three consecutive successful flight tests were conducted on 10 and 11 June 2026, which demonstrated protection against long-range ballistic missiles and medium-range anti-ship capability. DRDO said that India’s multi-layered ballistic missile defense (BMD) system was successfully tested. The interceptor missiles successfully destroyed their targets during the test.
This system has been developed with new technologies to counter emerging missile threats of the future. With these successful tests, India has now joined the ranks of the select countries which have the capability to intercept Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) level threats.

Defense Minister congratulated
Apart from this, DRDO also successfully completed the first flight test of Naval Anti-Ship Missile-Medium Range (NASM-MR). This missile is considered capable of targeting enemy warships and naval targets in the sea. These tests were witnessed by senior officers of DRDO and armed forces. The Defense Minister congratulated DRDO on the successful demonstration of these important technologies. He said that this achievement will give new strength to India’s defense self-reliance and technical capability.
Secretary, Department of Defense Research and Development and DRDO Chairman also closely monitored the tests. He appreciated the joint efforts of DRDO scientists and industry. These successful tests will give a big boost to both India’s strategic defense capability and maritime security. Anti-ship defense at medium range was demonstrated during the first flight test of the Naval Anti-Ship Missile-Medium Range.
