Champat Rai has taken a big decision amidst the Ram temple offering controversy. He will celebrate Chaturmas in Ayodhya for the first time. He will not leave Ayodhya from 25th July to 21st November. He has decided to stay here for 4 months and do meditation and penance in the shelter of Ramlala. He has taken a pledge to chant Ram Mantra, recite Ramcharitmanas and lead a virtuous life. He is in solitary confinement in Tirtha Kshetra Bhavan since June 23. Champat Rai is doing sadhana for about 4 hours every day and meeting only limited people.
This decision of Champat Rai has increased the discussions amidst the SIT investigation of donation theft case. This is also being said to be a discussion of ‘Sadhana to get rid of stigma’ amid the offering controversy. Atonement rituals are also being performed for Trust Treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri. The 10-day penance worship is going on with 70 Vedic pundits. Special rituals are being performed for the dignity and purification of the temple. Religious and political turmoil has intensified on the Ram temple offering issue. At present, SIT investigation into donation theft is going on and the final report is awaited.
‘There will be no impact on Champat Rai’s role’
The SIT team of Uttar Pradesh government, which is investigating money irregularities in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, is going to submit its final report soon. In view of this matter, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has made it clear that even if Champat Rai withdraws from the Trust, it does not mean that he will withdraw from VHP also. VHP International President Alok Kumar said that there is no proposal yet to remove Champat Rai from any of his organizational responsibilities. He may have resigned from the Trust due to the investigation, but his role in VHP will not be affected. The organization does not feel the need to take any action against them at present.
He said that the SIT has just submitted its interim report. We are waiting for the final report. No action can be taken against some organizations on the basis of their allegations and claims. “We have no proposal to remove him or take any action.”
