The Central Government has given big relief to the retiring central employees. Now they will not need to apply on different portals or submit documents again and again to get Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) pensioner card. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has linked the CGHS online system with the Bhavishya portal. With this new system, the entire process will become easier, faster and almost completely paperless than before.
You will be able to apply through Bhavishya portal only.
Bhavishya portal is used for the processes related to retirement and pension of central government employees. Now through this portal, employees will also be able to apply online for their CGHS pensioner card. The biggest thing is that many information related to pension and service will be available automatically from the portal. With this, employees will not need to fill the same information again and again or upload different documents.
Health facility will be available immediately after retirement
The purpose of the new digital system is to ensure that employees do not have to wait long to get health facilities after retirement. The process of application, verification and approval will be faster than before. After getting approval and depositing the prescribed contribution, pensioners will also be able to download their CGHS card online. This will make it easier to avail the health services of CGHS immediately after retirement.

The government says that this initiative is a big step towards promoting digital governance and ease of living. Integration of CGHS and Bhavishya portal will not only reduce paperwork but will also reduce errors in application. This will speed up the processing of applications and also save time of the employees.
