On Sunday, an important meeting was organized at the headquarters of Shri Panchayati Bada Udasin Akhara located in Kidganj, Prayagraj. The meeting was presided over by Mahant Shri Durgadas Ji Maharaj, Vice President of Akhara Parishad, in which saints of many prominent Akharas including Mahanirvani, Nirmal, Nirmohi participated.
After the meeting, Mahant Durgadas Maharaj completely rejected the claims of Mahant Ravindra Puri. He said that among the saints whose support is being claimed, some saints including Saint Raghu Muni Das have been expelled from the Naya Udasin Akhara in the year 2023. In such a situation, his claim of support is misleading and factless.
Support of 10 Akharas… Mahant Durgadas claimed
Mahant Durgadas claimed that his group has the support of 10 Akharas. These include Mahanirvani, Atal, Avahan, Agni, Nirmohi Ani, Nirvani Ani, Digambar Ani, Nirmal, Bada Udaasin and Naya Udaasin Akhara. He said that Mahant Ravindra Puri has the support of only Juna, Niranjani and Anand Akhara.
Mahant Durgadas clarified that the upcoming Haridwar, Nashik and Ujjain Kumbh events will be organized under the leadership of his group. He also said that a letter in this regard will be sent to the Chief Ministers of the states where Kumbh is organized. If even after this the other group raises a dispute, the matter will be taken to court. In such a situation, this dispute of Akhara Parishad can now go beyond the religious platform and take the form of a legal battle.
