Because mother-in-law never gave birth to daughter-in-law Gautam: Recently, a horrifying incident happened in the life of TV actor Sumeet Sachdev, who became famous in every household by playing the character of ‘Gautam’ in TV’s cult and iconic show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, which shook the soul of his entire family. While eating, Sumeet started swinging between life and death in a moment. Sumeet himself shared a video on social media and revealed how his life was almost saved when a morsel got stuck in his throat.

Describing the accident, Sumeet Sachdev said that all this happened in just a few seconds. He was having dinner in a restaurant with his wife and brother. Suddenly a piece of food got stuck in his windpipe. Sumeet said, “It was a very scary experience. My breathing stopped completely as soon as the food got stuck in my throat. I tried to get it out by coughing, but everything was in vain. Within a few seconds, there was a lack of oxygen in the body and I felt that now everything is going to end.”

A ‘first-aid’ trick saved life

The matter of relief was that his brother had correct knowledge of the life-saving first-aid technique i.e. ‘Heimlich Maneuver’. Without wasting a single moment, his brother performed this technique correctly by applying pressure on Sumeet’s back and upper abdomen. Within no time, the food stuck in the throat came out and Sumeet’s stuck breathing returned.

After this incident, Sumeet Sachdev made a special appeal to the fans. Sumeet said, “I wholeheartedly believe that every person must learn basic first-aid techniques like ‘Heimlich Maneuver’. You never know when such a medical emergency may arise. Only the right information at the right time can save someone’s life.”
