
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit West Bengal from July 17 to 19 and during this he will focus on issues related to border security, governance, law and order and development. This will be the first detailed tour of Home Minister Amit Shah to West Bengal after the historic victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the assembly elections held in May and the formation of its first government in the state.
On the morning of 18th July, he will visit BSF’s Jumagachh border post in Siliguri and interact with BSF soldiers at the 18th battalion border outpost and will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development works of BSF.
Meeting on border related matters
Will preside over the meeting on ‘Border related matters in West Bengal’ in the afternoon. After this, he will hold a review meeting on the complete implementation of the three new laws in West Bengal and in the evening he will also hold a meeting on matters related to birth and death registration in Bengal.
Amit Shah will reach Kolkata on Sunday
Amit Shah will reach Kolkata on July 19 (Sunday) on the last day of the tour. Where he will first chair a high-level review meeting on the law and order situation of West Bengal. The state’s security arrangements, crime control and administrative issues will be discussed in the meeting.
Home Minister will lay the foundation stone of curd plant
After this, the Home Minister will inaugurate the first phase of the ‘Museum of Words’ developed in the National Library, Alipore. This project is dedicated to Indian languages, literature and cultural heritage. At the end of the tour, Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone of Amul Dairy’s curd plant at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. This project is expected to boost the dairy industry in the state and create new employment opportunities at the local level.
This visit of the Home Minister is taking place at a time when issues related to border security, law and order and development in West Bengal remain important from both political and administrative point of view. In such a situation, his visits and meetings are being considered very important.
