
Lucknow’s Aliganj fire incident accused Surendra Prasad Shukla has suffered a big shock. District Judge Malkhan Singh has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of the accused. The court said that the allegations are very serious and the primary evidence available points towards the role of the accused.
The court said that serious allegations have been made against the accused related to the operation of such a premises, where the necessary legal permissions and safety standards were not followed. The court clarified that the information placed on record by the prosecution all shows the role of the accused in this crime. Considering the seriousness of the case, the anticipatory bail application is rejected.
15 died in the accident
On June 22, a massive fire broke out in a three-storey commercial building in Aliganj area of Lucknow. The smoke of the fire had spread throughout the building. 15 students died due to suffocation due to smoke, while seven others were seriously injured. There was hue and cry in the area after this incident. This accident had shocked the country. Relatives of the people present inside the building at the time of the fire were seen standing near the spot and crying. He was requesting the officials to go inside the building.
Ignoring rules in construction and operation
During investigation, it was found that the owner of this building is Surendra Prasad Shukla, who ignored the rules in the construction and operation of the building. Due to which this tragic accident happened. This building was located near Purnia Bazaar of Aliganj, where commercial establishments like cafes and coaching centers were operating.
Negligence of officers and engineers
In the investigation of the case, the negligence of many officers and engineers was also revealed in the report of Lucknow Development Authority (LDA). Negligence of 19 engineers and 6 PCS officers was revealed in the case. In the investigation report of LDA, action was recommended on all these.
CM assured strict action
After this accident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took the matter seriously and assured strict action against the culprits. He had said that a complete investigation will be conducted into the accident and those responsible will not be spared at any cost. Expressing grief over the accident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.
