The cabinet meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. Giving information about this meeting, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that two important decisions were approved in the cabinet meeting. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the railway project connecting Karnataka and Andhra was approved. Bellary-Guntakal railway line was approved. Approval of Rs 1264 crore was given for the new line. The Railway Minister said that railway projects will play an important role for developed India.
Ashwini Vaishnav Said that the Cabinet approved a new scheme of Rs 3,030 crore for the main chemical sector. Three dedicated chemicals parks will be built. An assistance of one thousand crore rupees will be given to each park. He said that this will increase employment opportunities. Chemical parks should be built properly. Each plant can cost Rs 15,000 crore to Rs 20,000 crore.
Railway line approved from Ballari to Guntakal
The Cabinet Committee today approved the third and fourth lines of Ballari-Guntakal section in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, the total cost of which is about Rs 1,264 crore.
The project is based on the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan, which focuses on enhancing multi-modal connectivity and logistics efficiency through integrated planning and stakeholder consultation. This project will provide easy connectivity for movement of people, goods and services.
Covering 3 districts in the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, this project will extend the existing network of Indian Railways by approximately 46 kms. The proposed multi-tracking project will increase connectivity in about 99 villages, which have a population of about seven lakh.
By increasing the capacity, rail connectivity will improve to many important tourist places across the country, like Ballari Fort, Sri Kumar Swamy Temple, etc.
Approval given in the meeting to build three chemical parks
The Cabinet has approved the Bharat Industrial Development Scheme Chemicals or BHAVYA – Chemicals Scheme to create three special chemical parks in the country. This scheme was announced in the Union Budget for the financial year 2026-27.
Ashwini Vaishnav said that the total financial outlay of this scheme will be Rs 3,030 crore, out of which Rs 3,000 crore will be to meet the cost of creating common infrastructure facilities and basic utilities inside the park and Rs. Rs 30 crore will be as administrative expenses. This scheme will run for a period of 5 years from financial year 2026-27 to financial year 2030-31.
He said that under this scheme, the Center will give a grant of up to Rs 1,000 crore for each park. This will depend on the contribution of at least Rs 500 crore by the concerned state government.
