WPL Auction 2026, Sold, Unsold Players List Updates: Preparations for the new season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) started with the mega auction. In New Delhi, a competition was seen between 5 franchises of WPL to buy the world’s best cricketers. This time a total of 276 players took part in the auction. This time too, many big names have entered the auction, which included the name of star all-rounder Deepti Sharma, who won the World Cup for India, who became the most expensive player this time. At the same time, former captain Meg Lanning, who made Australia world champion several times, remained unsold.
WPL started in 2023 and before that players were auctioned. Then each franchise had prepared the squad by purchasing one player each. Then like IPL, a mini auction was held for the next 2 seasons. Now the cycle of 3 seasons is over and hence BCCI organized a mega auction, in which all the 5 franchises retained some selected players, while released the rest of the squad.
