Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari regarding issues related to road infrastructure of her Lok Sabha constituency Wayanad. The pictures of this meeting, which took place during the ongoing winter session of Parliament on Thursday, went viral as soon as they came out.
Describing the meeting, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote on Instagram, “Met respected Shri Nitin Gadkari to raise issues related to my constituency Wayanad and urged that the pending works be completed as soon as possible without any further delay. He listened carefully to my concerns and took updates from the concerned authorities.”

Priyanka Gandhi expressed concern about the retaining walls on the Chandigarh-Shimla highway. She said, “At many places the retaining walls are very low, exactly where landslides are happening. Can I request you to look into this matter?” Apart from this, he also asked for time to meet Gadkari. In response to this, Gadkari called him to meet after the question hour. Gadkari said, “My doors are always open, there is no need for appointment.”
