Viral Video: Uncle gave real life knowledge in the reel regarding marriage, his words spread like wildfire

November 29, 2025 by Uma Shankar

Nowadays, the trend of spending unaccounted money in the name of making weddings memorable is increasing rapidly. Earlier it was believed that most of the responsibility in marriage rests with the girl’s family, but now many times the expenses of the boy’s family are also not less. Both the families spend lakhs of rupees just to make the wedding look grand and be discussed among the people. This is the reason why the question has started rising again whether it is really wise to spend so much money or not.

Vineet Bansal has raised this issue through a video. He has a page on Instagram named sirji_unfiltered. In the video, he talks about a wedding which took place in a five-star hotel and in which the total expenditure reached approximately Rs 37 lakh 40 thousand. This entire expenditure was incurred only for a four-hour programme, which even Vineet himself does not find appropriate.

Uncle gave real knowledge in reel

In the video, Vineet tells that he is currently standing at the same wedding location, where the bill has just been signed and the payment is going to be made the next day. He clearly says that he does not find it appropriate to spend such a huge amount on such a short-term function. According to him, it would have been more sensible if this money had been invested in a fixed deposit for the future of the children.

Vineet also says that there is no guarantee for how long any relationship will last. In such a situation, the logic of spending huge amount just for show seems weak to them. They believe that it is better to have a small wedding ceremony and only among close ones. This neither wastes time nor money. The most important thing is that there is no unnecessary pressure on families.

In the video he also gives the example of a wedding dinner. According to him, the price of one plate was kept at around Rs 4,000, which he finds completely unfair. He says that tasty and good food can be served in any budget, for this it is not necessary to spend more money than necessary. He also feels that when a family spends so much, it often leaves behind how many people are actually able to enjoy the event. The cost of a plate of Rs 4,000 cannot be considered reasonable for everyone.

The biggest emphasis in Vineet’s words is that marriage is definitely a special occasion of life, but it does not mean that it should be turned into a competition for show off. He says that people often spend their savings and hard-earned money just out of fear that their event may seem smaller than others. In his view, it is the need of the hour to change this thinking. The real meaning of a wedding is the beginning of two people together, not the lights, decorations or number of guests.
