There was a time when people neither had mobile phones nor any digital map. As soon as they set out on a journey, people used to decide their route only by asking the shopkeepers, passers-by or any auto driver in front of them. Many times one had to ask someone for directions before even taking two steps forward. Even today this method has not ended, but smartphones have reduced this problem to a great extent. Mobile came, then Google Maps came and people’s problems of finding directions started getting solved. Now most of the people, before going to any new place, open the maps and start their journey from there.
Yet, as much as technology helps, it also sometimes puts us in trouble. Many people have experienced such a situation when Google Maps suddenly takes a wrong turn or shows a route which is possible, but instead of taking them to the destination, it confuses them midway. Recently a video has gone viral which points towards this very thing. The spectators are laughing and also a little nervous.
This scene is like reaching the jaws of death.
In this video, a person is standing with a bike at the very edge of the mountain. His mobile phone is mounted on the bike and Google Maps is showing the route ahead on the screen. The problem is that there is no road in the direction the maps indicate. There is only a deep ditch in front of him. Seeing this it is clear that taking even one step forward means inviting disaster. At first glance, people watching the video think that if the person had moved forward even an inch, the consequences could have been quite dangerous. For this reason this video has attracted people’s attention.
However, many viewers believe that this may also be a funny reel which has been shot just for entertainment. There is a lot of such content on social media where people create such stories to shock the audience. But one thing that comes to the fore in this whole matter is that Google Maps also gets confusing sometimes. Be it network issues or incorrect location data, Maps sometimes suggests routes that can put the user in trouble.

No matter how reliable the maps are, it is always better to walk while looking at the road and understand the surrounding situation. Not every path can be decided just by looking at the screen. People’s reactions to this video have made it even more interesting. This shows how much this kind of content attracts the audience. People are getting entertainment by watching this and at the same time they are also understanding how important it is to be cautious while using technology.
