Nowadays, in cities where food delivery apps are available and where people know how to use them, people pick up the phone and order without thinking as soon as they feel hungry. One such incident went viral on Reddit, in which a user told that he ordered food from Zomato around 2 o’clock in the night and then shared a strange experience related to it.
According to the user, he was very hungry that night. So without any delay he opened the app and ordered food. After some time the delivery boy reached his house, but the main gate was closed at that time. To give food, the delivery boy handed him the packet from over the gate. Everything was normal, but the confusion started when he asked for OTP. The app sends this code to confirm the delivery, but OTP was not coming on the user’s phone at that time.
What happened after all?
When he did not receive the OTP, the delivery boy asked him to give him his phone so that he could check for himself whether the code had come or not. This is what upset the customer. It was night time, the gate was closed and the delivery person was standing outside the gate. The user felt that if he handed the phone over the gate and the person in front ran away? He didn’t want to take the risk. He asked the delivery boy to check and tell him from where he was standing, because he wanted to keep his phone in his hand.
The delivery boy got angry just on this matter. He said in a loud voice that you think I am a thief? The user became uncomfortable with this question. I didn’t even want to wake up my father late at night so that he could come down and open the gate. In this dilemma he finally gave the phone to the delivery boy. The delivery person kept looking at the phone for a few seconds, checked the OTP and returned the phone safely.

Late-Night Zomato Delivery Experience Did I Overreact or Was I Just Being Careful?
He looked a little sad while returning the phone. He said in a low voice, trust us, we are not thieves and then went away from there. After this, the question kept arising in the mind of the user whether he showed excessive caution or was it completely a normal precaution? Was he wrong or just wanted to be safe? He shared this entire experience on the r/AskIndia subreddit, where his username is @Stock_Explorer_2528.
