It is the responsibility of TTE i.e. Traveling Ticket Examiner to check the tickets of passengers inside the train. Only TTE is authorized by Indian Railways for this work. Coach attendant, sweeper or any other railway employee does not have the right to check or deduct tickets of passengers. In such a situation, if a person is seen roaming in the coach without wearing the prescribed TTE uniform, without showing his identity card and starts asking for money from ticketless passengers in the name of ticket, then it is absolutely natural to be suspicious of him.
A similar incident came to light in the sleeper coach of Jhelum Express, which surprised the passengers. It is being told that a person pretending to be a TTE entered the train and started bargaining for tickets with ticketless passengers. His actions were not like those of a normal TTE, which raised suspicion among some passengers. A passenger captured this entire incident in his mobile camera and shared its pictures on social media. Within no time this post went viral.

This matter came to light on the r/indianrailways page of the social media platform Reddit. Here a user wrote a post with two pictures regarding the alleged TTE who came in Jhelum Express. In the first picture, the person is seen holding a slip cutting diary in his hand, just like TTE usually keeps while making tickets. However, from his dress and behavior he looked less like an official TTE and more like a common man. In the second picture, he is seen sitting among the passengers inside the sleeper coach and is seen talking to them about booking tickets.
The name of the user who made the post has been given as @Alexwolfdog. The user explained in detail in the caption that he himself was traveling in the sleeper coach of Jhelum Express with a reserved ticket. During the journey, a person came into the coach and started checking the tickets of the passengers, calling himself a TTE. Initially some people found it normal, but after a while his words and style started appearing strange.

According to the user, the person was arguing with the people present in the reserve compartment about the ticket price as if bargaining was going on in a market. He was demanding different amounts from different passengers and was having a lot of trouble in fixing the ticket price. Usually, TTE issues fines or tickets as per the set rules and charts, but here the matter seemed completely informal.

The passenger became more suspicious when the man neither showed any official identity card nor was his uniform as per railway rules. Besides, his behavior was also very uncomfortable. Some passengers tried to ask him questions, but he started twisting things. Meanwhile, the user took his pictures and later posted them on Reddit, so that people remain alert and pay attention to such incidents.
