Actually, this delivery boy has saved 1.12 million yuan (160,000 US dollars) i.e. about Rs 1.43 crore in the last five years by delivering food and has paid off his entire loan.
According to the report of South China Morning Post, 25-year-old Zhang Xueqiang came to Shanghai in 2020 to work as a delivery person in a major platform. Before that, he used to run a small dhaba with his friend in his hometown of Zhangzhou in Fujian province of southeast China, but it closed down, due to which he had a debt of 50,000 yuan (7,000 US dollars), about Rs 6.27 lakh. Then he did food delivery work and paid off all his debts.
Earned 1.4 million yuan from delivery work
Last month i.e. in November, Zhang had shared a video on social media, in which it was said that he had earned 1.4 million yuan from his delivery work in the last five years. He told Xinmin Evening News that he used the money to pay off his debts and after deducting his living expenses, he managed to save 1.12 million yuan. ‘I don’t have to spend anything other than very basic daily needs,’ he said.

“I work about 13 hours a day, seven days a week,” Zhang said. Apart from eating and sleeping, I spend all my time delivering food to customers. He starts work at 10.40 am and works till 1 am the next day. He sleeps for 8.5 hours every day, so that he can refresh himself. He said he often fulfills more than 300 orders a month, each of which takes an average of 25 minutes. Overall, they have covered a distance of 324,000 kilometers during delivery. That is why his colleagues have named him ‘Delivery King’.
Paid off all the debt with hard work
Zhang said she shared her story online because she was happy with her accomplishment. He says, ‘After all, I have worked hard and paid off my loans and have also saved a lot.’ He said that he plans to open two breakfast shops in Shanghai next year, which will cost around Rs 1 crore.
