The AQI data released by CPCB is based on the average scientific assessment of the last 24 hours, which gives the actual and overall air quality status of the city. In contrast, many private apps show transient and local dust and particles, which may be caused by a single intersection, traffic jam or limited activity and do not reflect city-wide conditions.
Confusion arises due to technical differences
Data displayed on private apps are often misleading due to differences in air quality measurement techniques and standards. The state government says that the fear being spread on the basis of private apps is factless and baseless. The air quality of Lucknow is in moderate category, the situation is under control and there is no need to panic. Citizens are requested to rely only on information received from CPCB and government sources.
