US: Mass shooting took place at a birthday party in a California restaurant, 14 people shot, 4 dead.

The shooting took place on Saturday in Stockton, California, USA. This shooting happened during a birthday party. The suspect shot 14 people in this shooting. Out of which 4 people have died. The condition of the remaining people remains critical. Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Heather Brent said there was limited information to share with the public about the shooting, but she confirmed that four people had died.

Gunshots were fired during a child’s birthday party held at a restaurant in Stockton. Officials confirmed this in the press conference. The suspect is still at large and authorities say initial indications suggest the attack was “a targeted attack.”

Where did the shooting take place?

After this shooting incident, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office made a post on X. The shooting happened in the 1900 block of Lucille Avenue in Stockton, the post said. It is being verified. Many victims have been taken to local hospitals.

Initial reports indicate that the shooting occurred near or inside a Dairy Queen restaurant. Stockton Vice Mayor Jason Lee said the shooting happened at a child’s birthday party.

Vice Mayor condemned

Vice Mayor Jason Lee wrote in a Facebook post, “Tonight my heart is filled with a heaviness that is difficult to express in words.” As the Vice Mayor of Stockton and as someone who grew up in this community, I am angry to learn of this mass shooting at a child’s birthday party.

He further said, an ice cream shop should not be a place where families fear for their lives. Violence had touched my life at a young age, and seeing our own children, parents and neighbors go through something like this shakes me deeply.

He further said, Stockton is my home. These are our families. This is our community. I have been in contact with staff and public safety officials to understand exactly what happened and will press for answers. Our community deserves to know the truth and the affected families deserve justice and all possible support. Along with this, he expressed his condolences to the victim’s family.
