The Government of India has sought suggestions from the general public for the Union Budget 2026, so that people’s opinion can also be taken into account while making new rules and schemes. MyGovIndia inspired people to participate in this important process through a post on X.
The government wrote on Twitter: “Budget with people’s thoughts. Give your suggestions and be a part of the country’s progress and development.” That is, any person can go to MyGov website and tell what things the government should pay attention to in the upcoming budget.
Finance Minister held pre-budget meetings
Last month, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had held several rounds of pre-budget meetings in Delhi. First of all, talks were held with leading economists of the country and then suggestions were taken from farmer organizations and agricultural experts. After this, discussions were held with MSME sector, capital market, startups, manufacturing, banking and insurance sector, IT sector, tourism and hospitality industry, as well as trade unions and labor organizations.
Some time ago, industry organizations also gave their suggestions. An organization named PHDCCI demanded easy taxes for the MSME sector, low interest loans, and simplification of rules for small businessmen. His suggestions were such that small industries should get help in taxes, loans, exports and funding, so that their expenses can be reduced, work can be done quickly and they can compete easily.
Budget will be presented on 1 February
This budget is coming at a time when the country’s GDP figures are strong and inflation is also under control. As it happens every year, the Union Budget is presented in Parliament on 1 February. Before that, meetings are held between the Finance Ministry, Secretaries and representatives of different sectors, so that everyone’s opinion can be included while making the budget.
