How rich is Tirupati Balaji Temple?

According to statistics, Tirupati Balaji Temple Trust has thousands of kilos of gold, property worth lakhs of crores of rupees and immovable properties spread across the country and abroad. For this reason it is also called the richest Hindu temple in the world.

According to reports and data released by the Temple Trust (TTB), the temple’s cash worth more than Rs 1000 crore is deposited in various banks as fixed deposits (FD).

Gold reserves: The temple has more than 1,000 kg of gold, which is kept in the gold deposit scheme of the bank.

Where is Tirupati Balaji Temple located?

Tirupati Balaji Temple is built on the Tirumala Hills located in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. Situated at a height of about 853 meters above sea level, this temple is a wonderful confluence of spiritual energy and natural beauty.

According to historical texts and inscriptions, Tirupati Balaji temple is believed to be built around the 9th century. However, from time to time, various dynasties such as the Pallavas, Cholas and Vijayanagara Empire contributed significantly to its expansion and beautification.

Amazing architecture of Dravidian style

The temple has been constructed in Kovil and Dravidian architectural style. The tall gopurams, carved pillars and huge courtyards reflect its grandeur. The spire of the temple, called Ananda Nilayam, is its most striking feature.

The biggest feature of Tirupati temple is its vimana (spire). It is known as ‘Ananda Nilayam’. It has been coated with such a thick layer of gold that its shine can be seen from several kilometers away. Tons of gold donated by devotees have been used to decorate this peak and the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.

Donate tons of gold every year

Tons of gold and silver are donated every year to Tirupati Balaji temple. Devotees offer their hair, jewellery, cash and valuables to the Lord. Donations worth crores of rupees are deposited in the temple hundi every day.

Management of Temple: TTD

The temple is managed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). This trust not only handles the rituals and arrangements, but also does many works of education, health and social service.

Unwavering faith in Lord Venkateshwara

The main deity here is Venkateswara form of Lord Vishnu, who is also known as Balaji Maharaj. It is believed that every wish made with a true heart is fulfilled here, that is why devotees donate openly.
