Rana Daggubati On Deepika 8 Hour Shift Demand: For some time now there has been a lot of discussion about 8 hour shift in Indian cinema. Actually, it started when the news came that Deepika had demanded from ‘Spirit’ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga that she would not shoot for more than 8 hours in a day. After that Deepika was shown the way out of the film. Now the statement of South film superstar Rana Daggubati has come on this matter.
Rana Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter on the matter, he said, “It’s not a job. It’s a lifestyle. You either choose to be in it or you don’t. Every film is going to be based on something and demand something new. This is not a factory. It’s not like we sit for eight hours and come up with the best scene. As long as the people at the top understand that they are crafting a story and they are willing to do anything to make it work.” It does not reach the bottom. It is difficult to define it according to industry standards.
Dulquer Salmaan’s statement
Along with Rana Daggubati, actor Dulquer Salmaan has also expressed his views on this matter. He said, “In Malayalam cinema, you just keep working. You don’t know when it will end. But it is a wonderful, tiring and difficult day. When I did my first Telugu film Mahanati (2018), it was the first time in my acting career that I could go home by 6 o’clock. It was completely different from shooting in Tamil, where the second Sunday is a holiday.”
Dulquer further added, “I remember thinking that when I do production, I will do it differently. But you can’t do much. Working a little more hours a day is easier than shooting more a day.”
Trupti Dimri was cast in place of Deepika
However, Deepika was going to be seen opposite superstar Prabhas in ‘Spirit’. But if reports are to be believed, along with the 8-hour shift, Deepika had also asked for a share in the film’s profit. Because of which he was thrown out of this film. Later the makers cast Trupti Dimri in place of Deepika.
