UIDAI has provided some tools online for the safety of Aadhaar which are very useful, many people are aware of these tools but still many people are not aware of these tools.

Even a small carelessness can give scammers a chance to empty the account. If you also do not know how to keep Aadhaar card safe, then stay with us till the end because we will tell you how you can keep Aadhaar and the money in your bank account safe?

Biometric Lock

You can lock biometrics (finger and eye scan data) on UIDAI site, this option is also available in Aadhaar service only. Once locked, no one will be able to use Aadhaar for AePS (Aadhaar Enabled Payment System), which will greatly reduce the chances of fraud.

Lock and Unlock Aadhaar

To lock or remove Aadhaar, go to the official site of UIDAI and then go to Aadhaar Services in the My Aadhaar section visible on the homepage. Here you will get the option to lock/unlock Aadhaar, with the help of this option you can lock or unlock Aadhaar if you want. Now you may also be wondering what is the benefit of this? The advantage is, once Aadhaar is locked, no one will be able to do Aadhaar authentication even if they want to.

Masked Aadhaar

If you want to check in at a hotel or if you ever need to give Aadhaar to someone for any service, then you can download this special Aadhaar through the official site of UIDAI. Now you will ask what is special in it…? The special thing is that for security, the entire Aadhaar number is not visible, only the last few digits are visible and without the full Aadhaar number, the risk reduces slightly.

Note: No one ever calls from a bank official or Aadhaar office, in such a situation, if anyone tells you that I am talking to the bank or Aadhaar office and OTP is needed for your Aadhaar related work, then disconnect the call immediately and do not make the mistake of sharing the OTP.
