The central government is preparing to take a big step to make Haj pilgrimage easy and accessible. In order to provide relief to the Haj pilgrims, especially from the low income group, the government is considering a new scheme under which the obligation of collecting a lump sum amount for going on Haj can be eliminated.
According to sources, under the proposed scheme, Haj pilgrims will be able to deposit the amount in installments as per their convenience. This arrangement will be applicable for 5 years, that is, if a Haj pilgrim decides to go on Haj but the full amount is not available immediately, then he will be able to avail the benefit of the journey by gradually depositing the amount in the coming years. It is believed that this decision of the government will greatly benefit those people of the Muslim community who could not go on Haj due to less money.
Relief to financially weak Haj pilgrims
It is being told that the government has prepared a complete plan regarding this. The government may soon issue detailed terms and conditions related to this new scheme. It is expected that this step will provide relief to a large number of financially weak Haj pilgrims and their years-old wish will be fulfilled. The government believes that this facility of depositing the amount in installments will make the Haj pilgrimage more transparent, organized and accessible to the common people.
Meeting held to improve the journey of Haj pilgrims
Earlier, Haj Committee of India (HCOI) had organized a one-day national conference on 22 November to discuss measures to improve the journey of Indian Haj pilgrims for Haj-2026.
