There was panic in Anchal area of Idukki when a crane in a sky-dining setup stopped mid-air due to a sudden technical fault. After this, a situation of chaos arose on the spot. Information about 16 people including staff hanging in the air was given to the police and fire brigade team. As soon as the information was received, rescue teams reached the spot. All the tourists remained hanging in the air for about one and a half hours.

According to local reports, on Friday, due to a technical fault in the crane’s fuse, the operator was unable to lower the platform carrying the tourist. The tourists remained in the air for about one and a half hours. After this, Munnar fire brigade and police team were informed. The rescue team reached the spot and with the help of ropes, rescued the tourists trapped on the sky-dining platform and brought them down. During this time the tourists became very nervous.
