During the proceedings of the winter session of the Haryana Assembly on Friday, there was a huge uproar over the discussion on Vande Mataram. In fact, Congress termed this discussion as unnecessary and said that the government wants to discuss Vande Mataram to divert attention from the issues. Which BJP opposed. Congress MLAs started creating ruckus on this.
During the proceedings of the winter session on Friday, BJP MLA Ghanshyam Das proposed a discussion on the national song Vande Mataram. After which the speaker allowed discussion on Vande Mataram. But during this entire discussion, there was debate between Congress and BJP MLAs. On many occasions, former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda had heated arguments with CM Naib Saini and Energy and Transport Minister Anil Vij.
CM replied to Congress MLAs
Meanwhile, the matter escalated when CM Saini, while replying to this discussion, in his address took the name of former Prime Minister Nehru on the issue of Vande Mataram and said that Jinnah was under pressure on him. On hearing this, the Congress MLAs created a ruckus in the House and came into the well and raised slogans. Congress alleged that the CM was reading what was written.
Responding to Congress’s allegations, the CM said that these are not written things, these are history. Whatever I am saying is based on facts. Nehru ji has written that some lines of Vande Mataram can offend Muslims. After this, the ruling party MLAs started raising slogans of Vande Mataram ki Jai. The Speaker named 9 Congress MLAs Ashok Arora, Jassi Petwad, Balram Dangi, Geeta Bhukkal, Kuldeep Vats and Vikas Saharan among others.
Congress MLAs thrown out of the House
The Speaker said that the MLAs who have been named will have to leave the House. They have to go themselves, otherwise they will be thrown out through marshals. The MLAs who have not been named should sit on their seats. After some time the named MLAs went out. After this, Leader of Opposition Bhupendra Singh Hooda brought these MLAs with him to the House and requested the Speaker to allow these MLAs to come to the House, after which the Speaker again gave permission.
Everyone respects Vande Mataram
On this issue, Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda said that Vande Mataram was first adopted by the Congress party. There was a big public meeting in Rohtak in which my father, Mahatma Gandhi and many big leaders also participated. Everyone respects Vande Mataram, Vande Mataram was made the national anthem by the Constituent Assembly and then it was decided that Vande Mataram would be the national anthem and Jana-Gana-Mana the national anthem.
He further said that now what is there to discuss about this, everyone respects Vande Mataram. But when some of our MLAs were named and thrown out, I told the Speaker that either they should be called or we too should be thrown out. No one can distance our MLAs from public issues no matter how hard they try.
Government spoiled the atmosphere in the House
Congress MLAs Ashok Arora and Balram Dangi said that the MLAs who were thrown out of the House said that all this was being done by the ruling party to divert attention from the issues. Congress wants to discuss the no-confidence motion, but before that, the atmosphere of the House was unnecessarily spoiled by discussing Vande Mataram so that attention could be diverted from the issues.
