
We will have to wait longer for the inauguration of Jewar International Airport in Greater Noida. The aerodrome license for the airport is awaited, only after which the further process will be started. Currently, finishing work is going on at the airport, which is expected to be completed soon.
According to Rakesh Kumar Singh, CEO of Yamuna Authority and Chairman of NIAL, the construction of the airport is pending and the work is going on at a fast pace so that it can be completed on time. He said that the process of obtaining the aerodrome license is going on. Only once the license is obtained, the further process of inaugurating the airport will be started.
Inauguration date not decided
The Chairman said that no fixed date for the inauguration has been decided yet and the date will be announced only after the entire process is completed. This means that at present we will have to wait longer for the inauguration of the airport.
CM Yogi had taken stock
Recently, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Jewar Airport and inspected the ongoing construction work there. Along with this, he also held a meeting with the officials of the authority. During this he had said that the work should be completed as soon as possible. The progress report regarding the airport was also presented to the Chief Minister by the officials.
The world’s fourth largest airport
Jewar International Airport is said to be the largest airport in India and the fourth largest airport in the world. This is the first airport in the country which has been built with 6 runways. The specialty of this airport is that it will be directly connected to Yamuna Expressway, which will provide relief to the people of Delhi, Agra, Mathura and Vrindavan. Jewar Airport is a greenfield airport, modern technology has been used in its construction. Spread over an area of 5,845 hectares, this airport will be able to accommodate 178 aircraft simultaneously.
