
Inaugurating the three-day 60th DGsP/IGsP conference in Raipur, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah said that the Modi government has taken strict steps to completely destroy Naxalism in the country. Referring to the actionable points, he said that the Central Government has strengthened the security cover by constructing 586 fortified police stations in the last 7 years. The result of which is that in 2014 the number of Naxal affected districts was 126, which has reduced to only 11 today. The Union Home Minister expressed confidence that the country will be completely free from the problem of Naxalism before the next DGsP/IGsP conference.
Amit Shah Said that the country has been facing the problem of Naxalism for the last 40 years. He said that the Modi government has given a permanent solution to the problem of three hotspots – Naxalism, North-East and Jammu and Kashmir – which have become a scourge for the country and soon they will become like the rest of the country. Highlighting the achievements of the Modi government, the Home Minister said that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) laws have been strengthened, three new criminal laws as well as strong laws for narcotics and fugitives have been made.

Government action on terrorism and extremism

He said that by working on three points of Accuracy of Intelligence, Clarity of Objective and Synergy of Action, the security forces and police are giving a strong attack on radicalism, extremism and narcotics.

Action necessary against organized crime
The Home Minister said that we have to create a 360 degree attack on narcotics and organized crime and create a system so that narco traders and criminals do not get even an inch of land in this country. He said that now the time has come that the police of the states, along with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), should attack the narcotics gangs at the state, national and international level and put their masters in jail.
