Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy made a strong announcement on Sunday saying that Telangana is setting its economic benchmark not against its neighboring states but against Asian economic powers. Since Telangana was separated from Andhra Pradesh in 2014, its development has been compared with neighboring states, but now the Chief Minister has linked its development model to the advanced countries of Asia.
“Our main competitors and role models are China, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. We will take huge direct investment from foreign countries in the future,” said A Revanth Reddy, stressing that Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are not the benchmark for Telangana’s future development.
Telangana Rising 2047 unveiled
Reddy said this at a press conference at the Secretariat, in which the Telangana Rising 2047 vision document was presented, which is a blueprint to transform the state into a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

This document focuses on vision and strategy, the objective of which is to increase Telangana’s share in the country’s development to 10 percent. This plan will be officially launched at the Global Summit to be held in Future City on 8th and 9th December, in which leaders from all over the world will be invited.
How is the plan for 2047?
This big document, prepared with the help of departments like NITI Aayog and ISB, involves people as partners and has been designed to divide the state into three mutually reinforcing economic sectors.
The first is the Core Urban Region Economy or CURE. This area will be rapidly developed as a service sector hub and there is a plan to shift the polluting industries out of the core. Special projects like Musi Rejuvenation Project and Metro Rail Expansion are very important to develop Greater Hyderabad as a pollution-free metropolis.
The second is the Peri Urban Region Economy or PURE. Located between the Outer Ring Road and the proposed 360 km Regional Ring Road, PURE will be a major economic driver. Developments here include Bharat Future City, a new greenfield highway, a bullet train network and better connectivity with Machilipatnam Port.
The third is Rural Agricultural Regional Economy or RARE. This outskirt focuses on farming, and shows farmers as active partners in the state’s economic growth.
