Local body elections including 29 municipal corporations have been announced in Maharashtra. Voting for this will be done on January 15 and counting of votes will be done on January 16. This is the reason why political temperature has become high in the state. Efforts are being made to settle various political equations. Big signals are also being received regarding NCP and Shiv Sena. An important meeting is going to be held in Mumbai regarding the possible alliance between the two groups.
Sunil Tatkare, Praful Patel and Ajit Pawar themselves will be present in this meeting to be held in Mumbai. According to sources, a big decision regarding going with Sharad Pawar is likely to be taken tomorrow. After meetings in Pune today, Ajit Pawar will leave for Mumbai.
It is being told that after the nationalist meeting ends tomorrow, further talks will be held with Sharad Pawar faction’s NCP on the basis of the decisions taken in it. Both the groups are seeing many expectations from this meeting and talks.
Shiv Sena is adamant on 125 seats
Shiv Sena has made its stand clear regarding the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. In the meeting held at Vasant Smriti in Dadar, party officials decided that Shiv Sena will not compromise on less than 125 seats.
According to sources, in 2017, Shiv Sena had won 84+4 i.e. total 88 seats on the bow-arrow election symbol. Shiv Sena has again staked claim on all these seats. BJP had won 82 seats in 2017, which are being considered as BJP seats. Shiv Sena has proposed to distribute the remaining seats through mutual negotiations.
Party leaders believe that less than 100 seats will be an alarm bell for Shiv Sena, hence the party is completely firm on 125 seats. Senior leaders also feel that the situation like the Assembly elections should not be repeated in the Municipal Corporation elections.
There was resentment between uncle and nephew
Sharad Pawar was angry when Ajit Pawar left the Nationalist Congress Party and joined BJP. He had also expressed this on many occasions. However, the meetings between the two uncles and nephews have been going on for some time now. In such a situation, it is believed that the old anger now seems to be ending. This is the reason why speculations are being made about the two people coming together.
Congress’s front against ED office
Congress has made serious allegations against the BJP government regarding the National Herald issue. Congress says that an attempt was made to defame the Congress party including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, but the court’s decision has exposed the lies of BJP. In protest against this, Mumbai Congress will take out a march at the ED office tomorrow at 1 pm. An appeal has been made to all the officials, district presidents, state officials and block presidents to join this front in large numbers.
