The tussle over the post of Chief Minister continues between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar in Karnataka Congress. The rhetoric regarding the post of CM is not stopping. Along with this, the high command is also brainstorming to resolve this entire matter. If sources are to be believed, more than 100 MLAs are in favor of Siddaramaiah. There are only a few MLAs who are lobbying in support of DK.
congress high command Karnataka Is working on many plans regarding. It is being said that the CM’s chair may remain with Siddaramaiah for now. Apart from this, consideration can be given to making his grandson an MLA and a minister.
The high command’s plan is that after talking to Siddaramaiah, DK can be handed over the post of CM after 3 years or if he remains adamant, then after 4 years. So that Siddaramaiah himself happily puts his efforts in forming the next Congress government and DK becomes the CM again for 5 years. Besides, his grandson should also be promised important responsibility in the cabinet. Congress is preparing for the next elections through the current churning.
Final decision will be taken only after the meeting
Siddaramaiah’s elder son has passed away untimely and Siddaramaiah, who has crossed 80 years of age, has a special attachment to his grandson. Siddaramaiah’s second son has no interest in politics. In such a situation, after Sonia’s return from abroad, there will be a meeting of Siddaramaiah and DK with Kharge, Rahul, Sonia, organization general secretary KC Venugopal, in-charge Randeep Surjewala. In this a decision will be taken on change of leadership.
DK reminded old promise
According to sources, to stop the controversy over who will become the CM, just before the elections, it was decided in front of the high command that if the government is formed, Siddaramaiah will become the CM first. Then DK Shivkumar will get the chair for two and a half years. Till then DK will remain the sole Deputy CM and State President. In such a situation, as the time of two and a half years approached, DK took his demand to the high command. Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah demanded a reshuffle in his cabinet.
After this, in the month of August, both of them were arranged to meet separately in front of Rahul Gandhi. But Rahul told both of them to keep doing their respective work till the decision is taken. Since then the matter is pending in Rahul’s court. Meanwhile, seeing time passing, DK started sending MLAs to Delhi to increase pressure. Some MLAs started making statements in favor of Siddaramaiah for a place in the cabinet and some even started making statements for DK to be made the CM.
Congress high command in trouble
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the high command i.e. he, Rahul and Sonia will do it together. Sonia is currently abroad. The problem of the high command is that, considering the strength of BJP today, it needs a big stature mass leader like Siddaramaiah and the biggest leader of its caste Kuruba, while at the same time it does not want to incur the displeasure of a brilliant manager, hardworking, loyal and strong Congressman like DK Shivkumar. However, compared to Siddaramaiah who has crossed 80 years of age, DK is only 63 years old.
One defeat weakened DK
DK Shivakumar’s MP brother DK Suresh lost the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Which weakened DK. Siddaramaiah is far ahead of DK in terms of number of MLAs. If we talk about caste, DK comes from Vokkaliga community, the caste from which Deve Gowda family also comes, that is, he is not the biggest leader of that community. Apart from this, ED cases are also going on against DK, under which he had to go to jail earlier.
Taking all these into consideration, in the current situation, instead of hastily, the high command wants to decide with a bang whether there is a need to change the leadership in today’s situation? If it has to be done then it has to be done now or after some time. Due to all this there is delay. On the other hand, the restlessness of the leaders is increasing in Karnataka.
