
Municipal Corporation by-elections are being held in 12 wards of Delhi. Voting is to be held in the by-election on 30th November, but before that the Aam Aadmi Party has suffered a major setback. Rajesh Gupta, former MLA of Aam Aadmi Party from Wazirpur Assembly, has left AAP and joined Delhi BJP.
Rajesh Gupta joined the party in the presence of Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva. Rajesh Gupta, who left Aam Aadmi Party and joined BJP, became emotional at the time of joining and also made many allegations against Arvind Kejriwal.
Accusations against Arvind Kejriwal
The former AAP MLA said that Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal does not even answer his phone. Also said that the party’s state president Saurabh Bhardwaj also does not talk. Angered by this behavior of top party leaders, Rajesh has resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party.
Municipal elections will be affected
His resignation has come at a time when municipal elections are being held on 12 seats. In such a situation, this is being seen as a big setback for the Aam Aadmi Party. On the other hand, from Chandni Mahal ward, AAP leader Shoaib Iqbal has resigned from AAP and he is contesting the elections with his independent candidate Imran. Now a similar situation seems to be developing in Wazirpur also.
Voting is to be held tomorrow
Voting for by-elections in 12 wards of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will be held tomorrow (30 November) from 8 am to 5 pm. The State Election Commission (SEC) has imposed a ‘silence period’ of 48 hours from 5:30 pm on Thursday, in which no election campaign or survey results will be broadcasted. In the close contest between BJP, AAP and Congress, 132 candidates are in the fray, while Delhi Metro has announced to start services from 4 am for the convenience of polling personnel.
