Experts are calling this condition poison pills. Indonesia has now refused to accept this condition. Indonesia says that we cannot lose our sovereignty in the matter of trade deal. This stance of Jakarta is a big blow to America.
Why did Indonesia decide to protest?

If Indonesia accepts America’s conditions, it will have to break relations with China. The present government does not want to do this under any circumstances.
According to the report of Broadsheet Asia, China is currently Indonesia’s biggest business partner. Bilateral trade between the two is approximately US $ 147.8 billion. Under no circumstances would Indonesia want to break such a big business deal with China for the sake of America.
