Ashwin raised the issue of Team India’s playing eleven on his YouTube channel. He asked why Nitish Reddy was not given a chance in the first ODI. According to him, Nitish Reddy should have been in the team in the absence of Hardik Pandya. If this is not happening then it is an error in selection.
Questions are continuously being raised on many decisions of Gambhir. In the Test series against South Africa, he dismissed Washington Sundar on first down in one innings. In the first match of the ODI series, Sundar came to bat above KL Rahul. Opener Rituraj Gaikwad is being given chances at number 4 instead of Pant or Tilak Verma.
