Former Chief Minister of Bihar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has undergone cataract operation on Saturday. He underwent cataract surgery on his left eye. This operation was done in Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi. During this time his daughter Misa Bharti was also present in the hospital. Before this he had also undergone kidney transplant.
Giving information about Lalu Yadav’s successful cataract operation, his elder daughter Dr. Misa Bharti said that it is with great satisfaction that I share that the cataract surgery of my father (Lalu Prasad Yadav) was successfully done by Dr. Mahipal Sachdev at the Center for Sight.
Prayers for speedy recovery expected: Misa
Sharing two photos of her father after the operation, Misa said, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff who supported me in this difficult time. I expect prayers and good wishes from all my supporters and well-wishers for his speedy recovery.” According to sources, the bandage on his eyes will be removed after a few days’ rest. Sources say that after a few days’ rest, the blindfold of the RJD chief will be removed.
Lalu Prasad has been suffering from health related problems for a long time. Earlier in the year 2022, he underwent kidney transplant in Singapore. Then his daughter Rohini Acharya donated her kidney.
Lalu Yadav has been unwell for a long time
Lalu Yadav, former Chief Minister of Bihar and Railway Minister, also has a problem of sugar. Due to ill health, Lalu has remained away from active politics for a long time. Even in the assembly elections held in Bihar last month, he did not come out for campaigning. The command of the party is also completely in the hands of his younger son Tejashwi Yadav.
However, RJD, which had contested the elections without Lalu, had to face a crushing defeat and was reduced to just 25 seats with its worst performance till date.
News of discord in Lalu Yadav’s family
Amidst the electoral politics in Bihar, reports of discord in the Lalu family have been coming to light for the last few months. Earlier, Lalu had expelled his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav from the party and family because of his love affair. Tej Pratap formed his new party Janashakti Janata Dal, but the account of the party could not even be opened and he himself lost the election from Mahua assembly seat.

After the crushing defeat in the elections, there were reports of differences between Lalu’s daughter Rohini Acharya and other members of the family. Rohini had openly accused her own family members through social media that the slippers had been raised against her. She was called a dirty girl. She then got angry and left her father’s house.
