Review meeting on rural development, CM Mohan Yadav gave instructions to empower Panchayats

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Panchayat and Rural Development Department has an important role in employment generation at village level, cleanliness and connecting villages into the mainstream of development through roads. These activities contribute significantly to improving the standard of living of the common man. According to the resolution of Prime Minister Modi, the programs and schemes run by this department will have an important contribution in realizing the dream of a developed India by the year 2047.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav He was addressing the meeting on the achievements and priorities of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department in the committee room located in the Assembly. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State Radha Singh, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Neeraj Mandloi and departmental officers were present.

Instructions to speed up Vrindavan Gram Yojana

In the meeting, Mahatma Gandhi NREGA, Panchayat Raj, Prime Minister Housing Rural, Swachh Bharat Mission, State Rural Livelihood Mission, Prime Minister Agricultural Irrigation Scheme, Prime Minister Poshan Shakti Nirman, M.P. Presentation of achievements and innovations of 2 years of Rural Road Development Authority and Rural Engineering Service was made and instructions were given regarding the upcoming action plan.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav Also gave instructions to speed up the Chief Minister Vrindavan Gram Yojana. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that by empowering the semi-urban and big village panchayats, an action plan should be made for their development and the panchayats existing among the urban bodies should develop roads and other necessary infrastructure in coordination with each other. During this, the following information was given in the presentation of the achievements of the state government in the last two years:-

  • In the state, 2 thousand 472 Gram Seva Sadans (Panchayat Bhawans) at a cost of Rs 922 crore 20 lakhs, 106 Gram Seva Sadans (Panchayat Bhawans) at a cost of Rs 557 crores.
  • Atal Sushasan Bhawan (District Panchayat Bhawan) and 5 Atal District Sushasan Bhawan (District Panchayat Bhawan) costing Rs 50 crore were approved.
  • Approval was given for construction of 3 thousand 560 community buildings costing Rs 855 crore.
  • Fencing work worth Rs 7 crore 50 lakh was approved for plantation work at 231 shelter sites of Narmada Parikrama Path and at the origin places of 89 rivers.
  • Villages have been selected in 155 assembly constituencies under the Mukhyamantri Vrindavan Gram Yojana in each assembly.
  • Under Jal Ganga Augmentation Campaign 2024, 60 thousand 428 works worth Rs 1368 crore were done. Works worth Rs 3 thousand crores have been taken up under the year 2025.
  • Under the name of Ek Bagiya Maa, 31 thousand 142 works were done at a cost of Rs 750 crore.
  • Under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA, 1897 lakh man days were created in the year 2024-25 and 1404 lakh man days in the year 2025-26.
  • Under the “Catch the Rain” campaign, Khargone district of the state received the first prize in the National Water Award 2024.
  • Under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, irrigation facility was created in 6170 hectares in rain-fed agriculture area by constructing 1224 water conservation structures, 67 farmer facilities cum custom hiring centers were constructed and operated through FPO.
  • Under Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman, 44 lakh 22 thousand students were benefited in the year 2024-25 and 37 lakh 23 thousand students were benefited in the year 2025-26 till October 2025.
  • Under the State Rural Livelihood Mission, 11 lakh 27 thousand 37 families were registered in the category of Lakhpati Didi in the last two years.
  • Under the Livelihood Mission, 19,995 rural youth were given skill training for employment and 16,975 youth were given employment.
  • About 65 thousand trained youth were linked to self-employment. Along with this, Rs 5 thousand 658 crores were given to 2 lakh 36 thousand 214 groups.
  • Bank linkage of over Rs. 1,000 crore was provided and 3,395 Self-Help Groups were onboarded on the online platform.
  • Madhya Pradesh stood first in the country by approving 11 lakh 46 thousand houses against the target of 11 lakh 72 thousand under Pradhan Mantri Awas Gramin.

Emphasis also on toilets and community sanitation complex

Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, 2 lakh 87 thousand 279 family individual toilets and 1,417 community sanitation complexes were constructed to ensure freedom from open defecation. 21,186 villages have been declared ODF Plus model. 73 bio gas plants were constructed under Gobardhan Yojana. 16 thousand 56 grams of solid waste of the state has been declared managed.
Under the Chief Minister Majra-Tola Road Scheme under the Rural Road Development Authority, 30 thousand 900 km worth Rs 21 thousand 630 crore is being constructed. Roads were approved.

The schemes should be implemented in a coordinated manner according to the concept of holistic rural development by involving the Panchayat and Rural Development Department as well as other departments related to agriculture, cooperation, fisheries and rural development.
