Red Fort blast: NIA remand of 4 accused extended by 10 days, 7 arrests so far

Delhi’s Patiala House Special NIA Court has extended the remand of four accused in the Red Fort blast case by 10 days. The court has extended the remand of Dr. Muzammil, Dr. Shaheen Saeed, Dr. Adil and Mufti Irfan arrested in the blast case by 10 days. After this, the NIA team took everyone with them from the court. The National Investigation Agency will now interrogate him about the funding, planning and foreign links of the terrorist module.

The NIA custody of the four accused was ending on Saturday, after which they were produced in the court. On November 20, the court had sent all four to NIA custody till today i.e. November 29. On Saturday, amid tight security, all the accused, Muzammil Ganai, Adeel Rather and Shaheen Saeed as well as Maulvi Irfan Ahmed Wage were produced before Patiala House Court Principal and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna. Who extended his custody by 10 days. The remaining three accused Jasir, Shoyab and Aamir are already on remand. These three were presented in the court on Saturday only due to the investigation process.

NIA had demanded 15 days custody

The court had earlier also sent Dr. Muzammil Ghani, Adeel Rather, Shahin Saeed, Maulvi Irfan Ahmed Wage on remand for 10 days. The NIA had sought 15-day custody of the accused from the court so that they could be interrogated and the entire module could be exposed. However, the court had ordered to send all four accused to NIA custody for 10 days.

7 accused presented in Patiala House Court

After completion of the 10-day remand period, NIA presented seven accused in Patiala House Court. So far, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested seven accused in the case, who are linked to a white-collar terror module busted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Suspects are being arrested from different states

Many other agencies of the country including Delhi Police are involved in the investigation of the blast that took place near the Red Fort in Delhi. In the investigation so far, many suspects are being arrested from different states of the country. Who is being interrogated regarding this blast. Investigating agencies and especially NIA are busy investigating this aspect of the entire matter. On November 10, there was a blast in an explosives-laden I20 car near the Red Fort, which was being driven by Dr. Omar-un-Nabi. About 15 people were killed in this, while many people were seriously injured.

NIA said in a statement, ‘The agency continues to search for various leads in connection with the suicide bombing and is conducting search operations in various states in coordination with the concerned police forces to identify and trace other people involved in the attack.’
