During his five-day visit to Germany, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi visited the BMW manufacturing plant in Munich. He said that he is proud to see Indian engineering on foreign soil and the declining Indian manufacturing sector should go up. Along with this, he expressed concern about the decline in the manufacturing sector in India.
Rahul Gandhi said, “Had the opportunity to experience the world of BMW with a guided tour of BMW Welt and the BMW plant in Munich, Germany. It was a great opportunity to see world-class manufacturing up close. A highlight was seeing TVS’s 450cc motorcycle, which was built in partnership with BMW. It was a proud moment to see Indian engineering on display.”
Concern expressed over lack of manufacturing in India
However, he also said that manufacturing in India is decreasing and the country needs a better ecosystem to promote this sector.

Rahul Gandhi said, manufacturing is the backbone of a strong economy. Sadly, manufacturing is decreasing in India. To accelerate growth, we need to produce more. Good manufacturing ecosystems have to be created, and high-quality jobs have to be created on a large scale.

Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Germany took place during the winter session of Parliament. BJP has targeted Congress on this, and has called Gandhi a non-serious politician.

At the same time, Congress hit back by pointing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s five-day foreign tour. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that PM Modi spent half of his working time abroad.
