Raat Akeli Hai- The Bansal Murders Review: There are many heroes in Bollywood, but very few ‘artists’. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the player at the forefront of that queue. In Netflix’s new film ‘Raat Akeli Hai – The Bansa Murders’, he has once again returned in his old avatar ‘Jatil Yadav’. The name is complicated, the work is also complicated, and the case in which he is trapped is much more complicated. If you are also fond of murder mystery and want to see the dark truth of rich families closely, then this film is only for you. But is this film just another police story or is there a deeper political game hidden behind it? To know this you will have to read this complete review.
Story
The story starts with a luxurious mansion of the Bansal family, looking at which it seems that there will be only happiness here. But they say, “The bigger the mansion, the deeper the secrets.” The film begins with a strange scene, where some crows are seen dead in the rear of the mansion. It seems that these deaths are not just of birds, but are a sign of the coming bloody storm, which is going to hit the Bansal family and as per the predictions, this storm also arrives.
Then enters the picture our own complex Yadav (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) of. Due to pressure coming from above, everyone wants the matter to be resolved quickly. They want to close the case by blaming the drug addict boy of the house. But Jalit Yadav’s mind is operating at a different level. He understands that this is not just the act of a drug addict, but there is a big player behind it. The needle of investigation turns towards Neera (Chitrangada Singh) and her guru mother (Deepti Naval). As Samital descends into this swamp, he realizes that everyone here is a hunter disguised in the cloak of innocence. Now what was that bloody storm? Who is the culprit? To know this, you will have to go to Netflix and watch this film.
Know how the film is
The film ‘Raat Akeli Hai – The Bansa Murders’ is a ‘slow burner’. The biggest strength of this film is its ‘unpredictability’. You will remain a detective throughout the film, fighting your brains, but in the climax the story will take such a U-turn that you will be stunned. Netflix has once again proved that cinema can be not just about dancing and singing, but can also be a weapon to show the bitter reality of society. This film shows how the gap between the ‘rich’ and the ‘poor’ gives rise to hatred and crime.
writing and directing
Director Honey Trehan has kept the story darker than before in the second part of the film. The biggest quality of the writing of the film is that it does not let you get bored. Often such ‘slow burner’ films start dragging in the middle, but here a motive is clearly visible behind every scene. The condition of the ‘fourth pillar’ i.e. media shown in the film gives goosebumps in today’s times. The political and social aspects seen in the film take it far above a common crime thriller. Talking about the script, its writing has that ‘desi touch’ which keeps a common Hindi speaking man connected and brother, that climax! The last twist of the film is such that you will be forced to say ‘O Teri’ or Hey Bhaisaab’ in Aamir Khan’s language.
acting
Nawazuddin Siddiqui once called himself the ‘ugliest looking’ actor, but after watching this film you will say that no one has more beautiful talent than Nawaz. Nawaz has breathed life into the role of Jalit Yadav. There is a kind of ‘control’ in his acting. He doesn’t show heroism, he just slowly moves towards the truth like a tired but stubborn policeman. The expressions in his eyes are worth seeing when he is standing in the corridors of power and fighting alone.
Chitrangada Singh He has very well lived through his eyes the secrets which were buried in his character’s chest. While Deepti Naval has given a classic touch to the film with her presence, Radhika Apte’s fans may be a little disappointed because her role is small, but as long as she was there, she stole the show. His acting has that impact which stays with you even after the film is over. The entire team together has given a performance which shows that strong acting can be done even without being loud.

The wall shown between the rich and the poor in the film will hurt you deeply. If you are a fan of action and masala films, then you may not like this film, but for real cinema lovers, it is no less than a treat. ‘Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansa Murders’ is a film that keeps lingering in your mind even after it ends.
