The problem of traffic jam in Bengaluru has put a halt to many plans. This time a Samajwadi Party MP became the victim of the traffic jam. He was stuck on the roads for hours just before his scheduled flight to Delhi to attend the winter session of Parliament. Rajiv Rai, SP MP from Ghosi in Uttar Pradesh, was afraid of missing his flight, so he tried to contact Bengaluru Police, but he said his calls went unanswered. He alleged that ‘there was not a single traffic policeman on the road’ to handle the heavy traffic jam.
Angered by the traffic problem, the MP expressed his disappointment on social media. He targeted Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and said that the city has earned a name for its infamous traffic. He has described the traffic police as useless and irresponsible.
Honorable @CMofKarnataka I’m sorry but you have the worst traffic management, and most irresponsible, useless traffic police. They dont even pick up phone calls, here is the SS of my attempt to speak to them, none of them picked up my call. Last one hour we are stuck at same pic.twitter.com/GlWjJ4RgKH

‘Traffic police don’t even answer the phone’
While posting on social media, Rajiv Rai wrote that Honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka, please forgive me. But, you have the worst traffic management. He said that this is the most irresponsible, useless traffic police. All of them don’t even pick up phone calls, I tried to talk to them, but none of them picked up my phone.
This city, which is ranked among the slowest cities in the world in terms of traffic in the Global Index, is struggling with traffic jams despite political promises. Because of this, big leaders and business heads have also criticized it. Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla had said at a public event in the city that traveling in space is much easier than dealing with Bengaluru traffic. Entrepreneur Kiran Mazumdar Shaw has also targeted the government, pointing towards deteriorating infrastructure and gridlock.
