Seven TTP terrorists were killed by security forces in two separate operations in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. According to the army’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both these operations were carried out following the alleged presence of Khawarij in North Waziristan district.
Pakistan uses the term ‘Fitna al Khawarij’ for terrorists associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Mir Ali tehsil, in which six terrorists were killed.
Arms and ammunition seized from terrorists
ISPR said that another terrorist was killed in an IBO in Spinwam area of the district. The statement further said that arms and ammunition have been seized from the terrorists, who have been actively involved in several terrorist activities against security forces, law enforcement agencies and targeted killings of innocent civilians.
Search operation to eliminate terrorist
A search operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area. After the TTP ended the ceasefire with the government in November 2022, Pakistan has seen an increase in terrorist activities, especially in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.
Army killed 15 rebels

According to the media wing of the Pakistan Army, these operations were conducted on November 15 and 16 in Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Pakistan Army said that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was killed in the raid in Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan. 10 ‘terrorists’ of TTP killed. These include main leader Alam Mehsud, while five rebels were killed in Datta Khel of North Waziristan. The army said that Mehsud was a wanted rebel.
‘All rebels linked to foreign sponsored network’
Without naming any country, Pakistani officials said that all the killed insurgents were linked to foreign sponsored networks and were involved in several attacks. President Asif Ali Zardari said any attempt to weaken the national consensus against ‘terrorism’ will not be tolerated.
