
The Indian Army has detained a Pakistani woman during an infiltration attempt near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Security agencies are on alert after this incident. The possible role of the women’s wing of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed in the entire matter is being thoroughly investigated.
According to army sources, this incident happened around 3 pm on Tuesday afternoon. A woman was first spotted in the surveillance equipment of the Indian Army during suspicious activities near the LoC. The woman was trying to enter Indian territory, after which the soldiers took immediate action and took her into custody.
The woman is a resident of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir
The detained woman has been identified as 35-year-old Shehnaz Akhtar. She is said to be a resident of Gimma village in Kotli district of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Initial investigation has revealed that before attempting to infiltrate into India, Shehnaz had stayed for some time near a Pakistani Army post in PoJK.
Sources claim that before the infiltration, Pakistani Army soldiers also gave him breakfast. Apart from this, investigation has also revealed that a person named Zehan had given him Rs 1,000 before infiltrating into Indian territory. Security agencies are now trying to find out who Zehan is and how big is his network.
Investigation into Jaish-e-Mohammed’s women’s wing connection
In this matter, the angle of Jamaat-ul-Mominat, the women’s wing of Jaish-e-Mohammed, has also come to light. According to intelligence agencies, recently Jaish has recruited more than five thousand women in its women’s wing. It is feared that work like infiltration and logistics support can be done in the border areas through women terrorists or associates.
At present, Shehnaz Akhtar is being jointly interrogated by the army and intelligence agencies. His mobile contacts, purpose of travel and links with any terrorist organization are being investigated in depth. Security agencies say that this arrest may reveal some big conspiracy being hatched from across the border.
