The story of 40-year-old Huang Zhongcheng living in China is being discussed a lot on social media these days. According to the South China Morning Post, Huang married a woman the same day after meeting him for just four hours, but the result of this haste was that within a month his entire savings, about 240,000 yuan (about 34,000 US dollars), disappeared.
Huang says that the woman works in a beauty salon and on the very first meeting, she insisted and got the marriage registered on the same day. According to Huang, after marriage, the woman spent his entire savings citing various expenses. Huang is a resident of Hengyang city of Hunan province. He told that on the morning of 21st August, he met this woman on a blind date. He also found it strange that eight different matchmakers suddenly appeared on the way. The matchmaker from his own village was already with him, which means a total of nine people were recommending the same woman.
How did you get such a strong shock?
Speaking to Hunan Broadcasting System, Huang said that so many people were praising the same girl, I did not understand anything. She was repeatedly saying that let’s settle everything today itself. Huang says that on the same day at around 5 pm, both of them got the marriage registered. Even he himself could not believe that all this happened so quickly that I felt as if I was dreaming. That night both of them stayed in a hotel and there they had their first and last physical relationship.
After this, whenever he tried to come close to his wife, she would push him away. According to Huang, the woman stayed with him for only two days in total…then she told him to go to Guangdong province and work there to earn money. During this time he started asking for money. Sometimes as an excuse for some expense, sometimes as a need for a relative, money was the center of everything. Huang says that she answered occasionally, but whenever she did, it was only about money.

He told that within just 18 days the woman alone spent 2,40,000 yuan. We met on 21st August, and by 8th September my entire savings were gone. Huang also told that on September 6, he had asked for money on the pretext of buying a computer for his daughter. Apart from this, he also asked them to send money on Chinese Valentine’s Day i.e. Qishi festival.
The guy’s story is a warning
Media reports also include that records of conversations and transactions between the two on WeChat have also come to light. Once Huang sent her a red envelope worth 1,314 yuan, to which she replied by writing ‘Thank you hubby’. This matter also went viral because people are already worried about the fraud cases going on in China in the name of matchmaker network and blind dates. Many people are questioning on social media that how can a person get married in such a short time and trust his entire savings to someone.
Huang is now in a difficult situation both financially and emotionally. Her story has become a warning to many that major decisions like choosing a life partner should not be taken hastily, especially when there is constant pressure or abnormal behavior from the other side. This incident not only affected Huang’s life, but also showed how rapidly financial exploitation in the name of relationships is increasing in modern times. Many are calling this case a part of organized fraud, as it does not seem normal for the same woman to be recommended by so many matchmakers. Huang’s story remains a topic of discussion online and raises questions about whether there is a need for increased legal protection and awareness in such cases, so that no one else becomes a victim of such fraud.
